MRI AND QUADRUPOLE RESONANCE TECHNOLOGIES FROM BTG AVAILABLE FOR LICENSE ON PATEX
12 September 2002 - BTG

CorporateIntelligence.com today announced the addition of high profile patent portfolios to its collection of more than 5,000 properties now available for license at www.patex.com. Added to the PATEX exchange are magnetic resonance imaging and Direct Quadrupole Resonance portfolios provided by BTG International, a leading technology commercialization company.

MRI, one of the most important achievements of the 20th century in medical diagnostics, has become the diagnostic imaging modality of choice for many clinical conditions. The Direct Quadrupole Resonance technology being offered by BTG makes it possible to quickly detect small quantities of explosives and narcotics, rendering it ideal for use in baggage and parcel inspection, as well as imaging applications and industrial measurements.

PATEX, a leading patent and technology licensing exchange, is part of the CorporateIntelligence.com intellectual property portal owned by Information Holdings Inc. PATEX, which is operated and marketed by BTG and IHI, connects patent and technology licensees with licensors, providing them the opportunity to meet, negotiate and conclude deals. PATEX offers more than 5,000 patents and technologies for license from a wide array of industry sectors including communications, microelectronics, medical systems and devices, materials, chemicals, biotechnology, energy, and more.

"Including MRI and Quadrupole Resonance technologies is an exciting event and illustrates the quality of patents and technologies that we will continue to offer to our customers," comments Dooyong Lee, EVP and General Manager of PATEX. "PATEX offers users a complete solution, providing licensors with unprecedented exposure of their properties and offering licensees a high-quality and rapidly growing searchable collection of patents and technologies for license - and we've only just begun," notes Mr. Lee.

"The Direct QR technology is one that is well developed and supported by a very strong patent portfolio, stated Anthony Lando, EVP and COO of BTG International Inc. A license to this technology includes access to the patents, as well as a wealth of know-how and the results of a successful demonstration. BTG believes this technology to be of significant value and is confident that PATEX is an outstanding commercialization vehicle."

In addition to BTG's technologies, PATEX includes patents and technology listings from some of the world's best-known organizations for scientific discovery and innovation, like Philips International, Siemens AG, H.B. Fuller, the University of Rochester, Rutgers University, and others. PATEX also lists hot properties from rawtechnology.com, a leading supplier of Technology and Intellectual Property assets to fast growing high-tech firms in Silicon Valley.

"We anticipate that the amount of traffic to PATEX will be unprecedented in this arena, marketed from both the PATEX site itself and the CorporateIntelligence.com portal," observes Mr. Lee. "PATEX will enable licensors to effectively address the estimated $115 billion of unused technology assets in the United States with a complete and integrated solution. Unlike other exchanges, PATEX provides the traffic and the tools that will help licensors and licensees meet, negotiate, and conclude more deals, faster and more efficiently than ever before," notes Mr. Lee.

A complete licensing resource, PATEX includes the research, communication, and deal facilitation tools that help expedite and invigorate new product development and introduction. For each listing, the full-text and background for each patent or technology is automatically displayed, along with the automatic option to contact licensors.

Licensors can further market their portfolios with a PATEX storefront and enhanced listings to highlight their most sought after properties to the global PATEX and CorporateIntelligence.com audiences. Licensees can search listing by keyword and industry sector, and register for automatic email alerts for technologies and patents of interest, or search the entire PATEX database on demand at www.patex.com
