SANDVIK ADDS SPECIALITY PERFORATING RULES TO PRODUCT RANGE
02 September 2004 - Sandvik Materials Technology UK
| Sandvik has announced that, in collaboration with Zimmer Industries Inc, it has added perforating and micro perforating rules for the manufacture of business forms to its existing range of flat bed, rotary and special cutting and creasing rules for the printing, packaging and board converting industries.
|
The new range of Sandvik Zimmer perforating rules are based on Zimmer's QZ3 range - the market leader among business form manufacturers in the US. Manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, unique production methods also guarantee rules with a high quality finish and with clean/precise teeth. The Sandvik Zimmer QZ3 rules claim to run quality perforating jobs faster, consistently and with the added benefits of reduced machine set-up times. A wide range of tooth/space specifications is available for rule heights between 0.750' (19mm) and 0.937' (23.80mm). In addition to perforating rules, there is a range of micro perforating rules providing tooth specifications of between 30 and 100 teeth per inch. This range of high quality rules offers extended tool life for applications ranging from single part or ultra-thin materials to multi-part forms, card stock, packaging materials and other heavyweight substrates. Technical, design and manufacturing development of the micro perforating rule range has produced 'invisible' micro perforating rules - often the rules of choice for perforating forms, continuous letterheads, cheques, labels or other single part or thin substrates. Sandvik Zimmer perforating rules will be supplied through Sandvik's worldwide distribution organisation - except in UK, US, Benelux and South Africa where local arrangements exist. The new range is described in a 12 page technical brochure and selection guide. It contains full details of sizes available and for each rule size gives the tooth/space specification, metric and decimal equivalents, type of rule bevel and percentage of hold - the percentage of material remaining uncut after perforation.
