Husky Hot Runners has introduced its new UP nozzle, a purpose built nozzle that delivers best-in-class performance for thinwall molding applications. The new nozzle is installed in Husky's new HyPAC thinwall packaging machine at NPE. The UP nozzle was designed specifically for thinwall packaging. It delivers fast cycles and is capable of handling high pressures, as well as high throughput of 300 grams/second. Along with the nozzle, the entire hot runner system, including manifold and plates, has been optimized for thinwall applications. "The UP nozzle offers a new level of performance," Keith Carlton, Vice President of Husky Hot Runners, said. "It is capable of running less than three second cycles and handling 40,000 psi. Simply put, our new UP hot runner and mold base technology for thinwall packaging is the new benchmark of the industry." Husky Hot Runners has also introduced its new Split Sprue Bar. It is ideal for 2, 3 and 4 level machine based carriers. The new split sprue bar, also running on the same show system, delivers a clean, no-drool solution for easy part removal or robot access. It features a stem-to-stem shut-off to eliminate stringing and drool.
