Husky is demonstrating a Hylectric 300 machine with a 72-cavity closures mold at NPE that sets new industry benchmarks for speed, output and part quality. The system produces 1,500 parts per minute. "Husky closure systems are engineered specifically to meet the demands of challenging applications like those in the beverage packaging segment," Mark Fitzpatrick, Husky's Business Manager for Closures, said. "The Husky system at NPE features new plasticizing rates, controls enhancements for faster cycles and tighter integration of auxiliary equipment, as well as a Husky hot runner purpose built for closures. This has made it possible to achieve tighter tolerances and higher yields." A key component of Husky closure systems is the hot runner. By providing both the hot runner and machine, Husky has complete responsibility for melt delivery. This allows better control over color change, melt consistency and part quality. The Hylectric machine also features industry-leading mold protection thanks to the ability to run at lower tonnages, better mold alignment and high mold protection sensitivity.
