HUSKY LAUNCHES HOT RUNNER MANUFACTURING IN BRAZIL
31 October 2006 - Husky Injection Molding Systems

Husky Injection Molding Systems has established a hot runner manufacturing operation at its Brazil Technical Center to provide dedicated support to the growing Brazilian plastics industry

Husky Injection Molding Systems has established a hot runner manufacturing operation at its Brazil Technical Center to provide dedicated support to the growing Brazilian plastics industry.

"For the first time, we're able to offer a complete hot runner system made in Brazil," Fabio Seabra, Husky's General Manager for Brazil, said. "This has a number of significant advantages for our customers, including reduced cost and lead times, as well as access to a dedicated team of local hot runner engineers who understand the needs of the Brazilian market."

Husky has been building its capabilities in Brazil for over a year and has delivered more than 135 systems during this time, both manifolds and complete hot runner systems with plates, from 2 to 32 drops. The Sao Paulo facility is now fully operational and capable of handling the increasing requirements of local molders and moldmakers.

"We're anticipating growth in all areas of the plastics industry, especially packaging, closures and technical applications," Seabra said. "And we expect processors will increase the number of cavities they currently use as production levels continue to increase."

The new operation bolsters Husky's expanding global hot runner manufacturing network, with established facilities in the U.S. (Milton, Vermont), Europe (Dudelange, Luxembourg) and China (Shanghai, and soon Shenzhen).

"In order to provide quality hot runner products quickly and cost-effectively we need to be close to our customers," Seabra said. "Brazil is just the latest example of how Husky is striving to deliver outstanding local service and support in all our operations."
