NOVAPAK CONTINUES INVESTMENT IN PET PRODUCT PLATFORM

To support the increasing growth and demand for PET bottles, Novapak, a business of PVC Container Corporation, has purchased a new Husky HyPET 300, 48-cavity system to be installed in its Paris, Ill., plant this summer.

Novapak uses two-step molding technology to provide a low-entry cost position, custom bottles, a wide range of colors, and color consistency to meet a range of customer requirements, from quick-turn prototyping to low- and mid-volume production runs. From its core set of tooling, Novapak is able to make preforms for hundreds of different bottle types quickly and cost-effectively. Design improvements on Husky's HyPET systems will make mold changes faster, provide better color mixing and quicker color changes.

"We do at least one or two mold changes per day, so uptime, speed and fast cycles are essential for us," said William Bergen, Novapak's President and CEO. "We're very pleased with the technology and local support that Husky has provided. Their HyPET system will give us the improvements we need to maintain our competitive advantage."
