HAEGER’S BRAND NEW 824 WINDOWTOUCH–3 IS NOW AVAILABLE THROUGH SHEAR-FORM MACHINE TOOLS LTD
12 November 2006 - Metalforming Machinery Makers' Association
| Haeger’s brand new 824 WindowTouch–3 is now available through Shear-Form Machine Tools Ltd, the Coventry based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier and sole UK representative for California based insertion press manufacturer Haeger Inc. |
This new press has a fast ram speed to improve productivity, thereby reducing component costs and providing a fast payback time. It is designed to apply insertions into thin gauge materials and other sophisticated insertion applications, where absolute repeatability (+/-0.5%) is critical. It has a force range from 4-72kN, a throat depth of 610mm and throat height of 342mm. Other new performance enhancing features include a purpose designed multi-shuttle tooling platform for nuts, studs and stand-offs, which reduces the tool changing time down to about 2 minutes. A new laser part locating light improves the speed of the insertion process using a red cross hair laser to show the operator exactly where each fastener is inserted. The latest Turret Insertion System not only enables up to 4 different fasteners to be inserted in one part handling, but has a positive locking station which ensures the operator has activated the correct tool station and that the tool does not move when the insertion takes place. The tool position feedback helps eliminate missing fasteners by stopping the operator from moving on to the next fastener until the current fastener is inserted. A digital camera, which is supplied as part of the Quality Control Package, enables the operator to take images of the positions of fasteners on the component he is working on and to store the images in a part program for future reference. Haeger’s latest InsertionLogic Software version 9 comes as standard plus InsertionGraphics and a Quality Control Package, which includes Networking Software Communications and Offline programming. The networking feature provides simple communication between the press and a PC or network, allowing the operator to create and store programs off line and call them up on multiple machines.
