SUCCESS FOR SANDVIK MULTISHIFT™ BANDSAW BLADE TIPPING MATERIAL
14 October 2003 - Sandvik Materials Technology UK

A tipping material for bandsaw and framesaw blades, developed by Kock GmbH Zerspanungstechnik, Sandvik Materials Technology's agent for woodworking tools in Germany, has proved a success in the German market with bandsaw blades marketed under the name Double Cut®.

The tipping material is used by Sandvik Materials Technology in conjunction with its bandsaw blades made from Sandvik Multishift™ and is providing longer sawing times before regrinding. Up to three times longer compared to normal blade tipping methods is claimed.

The exact composition of the tipping material is not revealed.

Multishift blades with Double Cut tipping are manufactured by Sandvik subsidiary Suomen Sandvik Oy in Finland - one of Europe's largest bandsaw manufacturing plants. Blades have been supplied and proved in the German market for 3 years and represent the majority of tipped blades delivered by Sandvik into Germany.

Tipping of bandsaw blades with Double Cut material is available exclusively through Suomen Sandvik Oy and Kock GmbH.
