A new range of semi-automatic bending centres, called BC-Series, has been introduced by Finn-Power. Availability in the UK is through sole agent, Press & Shear Machinery, Tamworth. Comprising both hydraulic and servo electric constructions, the machines offer the advantages of the manufacturer's established Express Bender programme and extends the production possibilities to new applications areas such as perforated material or sheets with big forms. Maximum bending length varies from 1,650 mm to 2,550 mm and maximum sheet thickness is from 2.0 mm to 3.2 mm, depending on the machine model. Bend height is up to 200 mm. Loading and unloading may be carried out simultaneously to achieve shorter cycle times, parts for processing being transferred automatically from an external table, ensuring operator safety. An automatic clamp feeder moves the part to be bent from the table to the manipulator. When all bends have been completed, an automatic pusher conveyor unloads bent parts to the unloading table, which incorporates an automatic buffer function. The BC bending centre can be customised using a range of Finn-Power options such as automatic tool change, additional upper tool, and extra short blade. With the automatic tool change option, set-up for a new job is fully automatic. Photograph caption: The new Finn-Power BC5 semi-automatic bending centre from Press & Shear.
