Haeger’s Insertion Graphics graphics software including a digital camera is now supplied as standard on all 824 WindowTouch insertion presses available through their sole representative in the UK, Shear-Form Machine Tools Ltd, the Coventry based sheet metal and plate working machinery supplier. This machine is also available with Haeger’s Quality Assurance Software The digital camera supplied with 824 WindowTouch is an aid to the operator and allows him or her to take images of completed work during a production run and these can be viewed on the screen, during a later production run of the same product, enabling the operator to see exactly where each fastener or insertion should be located on the component part. Each location can be numbered and colour coded exactly the same as the tool positions and bins. There is a bracket on the side of the control for mounting the camera. The cable from the camera goes to a USB adaptor on the back of the control cabinet and the an additional cable from the adaptor to the USB port on the control. The InsertionGraphics software is an aid to the operator with the parts being made being shown on his/her screen, helping to ensure that each component is made correctly. It can show multiple views of parts either using the digital camera or part drawings. The operator’s screen has a 640 x 480 resolution and uses a Celeron powered Windows operating system and has 32Mb ram, Ethernet, FDD, mouse, keyboard and serial ports. The images taken and used in conjunction with Haeger’s InsertionLogic software with its onboard program storage for fastener type/size, force, up travel, dwell, batch counts and tooling part numbers reduces the risk for expensive mistakes where the wrong fastener or insert is applied. Using colour pictorial aids on the PC based touch screen, the operator has easy control and set up of all his production requirements.
