PRESS ORDERS FOR SMV PRESSES

Presses (UK) Ltd, the Coventry based power press and ancillary equipment manufacturer received two orders for EMG pneumatic and mechanical presses. The first order was from Swindon, Wiltshire based Torinsifan, to be installed in their Whitney, Oxford manufacturing facility.

Presses (UK) Ltd, the Coventry based power press and ancillary equipment manufacturer received two orders for EMG pneumatic and mechanical presses. The first order was from Swindon, Wiltshire based Torinsifan, to be installed in their Whitney, Oxford manufacturing facility. This company is a manufacturer of fans, blowers and ventilators for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, business machine, electronics cooling, telecom and domestic appliance industries and the order is for a standard 15 ton mechanical press to assemble the motor bodies that are used in their fans. This press, which has an electro welded, E36-3 stabilised steel frame has a clearance height of 300mm, a swan neck depth of 180mm and can operate at up to 140 strokes per minute. The second order for a 7.5 ton pneumatic press was from a subsidiary of the Pall Corporation based in Ilfracombe, Devon and a member of the largest and most diverse filtration, separations and purifications company in the world.

This press is being delivered with specially designed guarding to suit their tooling and will be used to make filters for blood. These filters comprise 16 layers of membrane and are hand fed. SMV Presses UK Ltd is the UK representative for the French based EMG Presses, who manufacture a range of presses used in numerous industries including watch making, jewellery making, frames for glasses, electrical appliances, automotive parts, white good equipments, toys and locksmiths. Mike Hall, Sales Manager at SMV Presses (UK) said: “Both these orders are from new customers and have come about as a result of both companies gaining new business. As a Company we have been active in marketing our products through mailings and exhibitions and this has helped us find new business.”
