The new material is easy to injection mould and co-extrude due to a high melt flow index (200 °C/5 kg = 5 g/10 min). While using this material excellent surface resistance values of 10e7 can be achieved. The products made out of PRE-ELEC ESD 6100 are washable, reusable and recyclable as well as colourable. Typical applications are thermoformed trays, clamshells and boxes that give permanent ESD protection for the electronics, medical, pharmaceutical and paper handling industry. About: Premix Oy
Premix was founded 20 years ago by Mr Antti Kiikka as a spin-off from the paint company Teknos. From a modest start as a local producer of black and white masterbatches the company has grown into one of the main masterbatch players in Scandinavia, and developed into a major European supplier of electrically conductive compounds. In fact conductive compounds have become our major business line. Nearly 20% of Premix personnel are involved in research and development functions. This creates 7% of sales. The company has skilled personnel and a well-equipped laboratory with equipment for testing of physical and rheological properties; analytical instruments such as, DS-caloriemeter, TG-analyzer and IR-spectrometer; units for film blowing, casting, extrusion coating and injection moulding; and a pilot compounding line and a pilot line for sheet extrusion.Premix is actively involved in many projects with universities and research institutes to complement our own development work. Through this valuable collaboration Premix always has the latest knowledge at hand.
