DEMAND GROWS FOR CLEANER CUTTING
08 October 2002 - Sandvik Materials Technology UK
| Increasing quality requirements from the food, pharmaceutical and medical industries to eliminate slivers, swarf and dust from packaging has led to a growing demand for Sandvik Saxon's Dieflex Ultra cutting rules.
|
Dieflex Ultra rules have all the benefits of Sandvik's Dieflex cutting rules in that they combine the two contradictory requirements of good bendability and high wear resistance. In addition, they have a friction reducing coating on the cutting edge. The overall result is longer and cleaner cutting with reduced slivers, swarf and dust. Available as standard with a 42° cutting edge, Sandvik produces Dieflex Ultra also with a 52° cutting edge. Both are supplied in a range of rule heights, in 2, 3 and 4 point sizes and in coils or 1 metre lengths. The rule is also produced with Sandvik's new dry rust protective coating. Specially formulated and developed to replace the traditional oil protective coating on cutting rules, it offers cleaner handling and improved protection against rust. Sandvik Dieflex 42 Ultra is already being supplied to many of the major food and pharmaceutical packaging producers and is being promoted by Sandvik as the ultimate quality cutting rule for paper and board.
