Developed specially for cutting plastics, foils, coated and varnished board and similar materials which are normally difficult to cut, Dieflex G12 is produced with a fine ground cutting edge to give greater edge sharpness. It also has improved bendability, compared with standard ground edge rule, and is manufactured with close control of the rule height tolerances.

Tri-pack Plastics, based in Grimsby, UK, design and produce a wide range of innovative, polypropylene point-of-sale retail and transit packaging. They have found that when assembled in a die cutting form, the sharper cutting edge of Dieflex G12 penetrates the substrate more easily and, because less cutting pressure is required, the life of the die is greatly extended. This has a particular advantage with solid polypropylene which tends to be more demanding on the tool than fluted. Packaging is generally produced in solid polypropylene up to 1.2mm thickness and fluted up to 6mm thickness.
Another feature of Dieflex G12 is that the body of the rule is rigid. This means that it does not bend and a consistent and high quality cut can be obtained. Tri-pack Plastics pioneered and patented an edge sealing process to bring appearance, hygiene and strength benefits to fluted polypropylene. The repeatable and clean cutting capability of the new rule helps in the sealing process.

As well as using Dieflex G12 for in-house refurbishment of dies, Tri-pack Plastics is now specifying Dieflex G12 to its external diemakers.

Dieflex G12 can be produced in centre and facet bevel configurations and in 2 point and 3 point thickness.
