SANDVIK SAXON PRODUCES NEW GENERATION CUTTING RULE
31 January 2002 - Sandvik Materials Technology UK
| Sandvik Steel has announced that its Sandvik Saxon production unit, based in Rugby, is to produce a new generation of cutting rules for the packaging and board converting industries.
|
Designated Dieflex Auto, the new rule has been developed specifically for use by diemakers with automated rule bending equipment. It is edge hardened for durability but still offers good bendability. Sandvik Steel claims that its Dieflex cutting rule, when introduced some years ago, was the world's first edge hardened cutting rule that combined the contradictory requirements in metallurgical terms, of good bendability and high wear resistance. The new Dieflex Auto also offers tighter height and thickness tolerances and closely controlled hardness, allowing diemakers to produce better quality cutting formes, more efficiently. It is available in all standard rule heights and thicknesses. Dieflex Auto will be produced by Sandvik Saxon with the recently introduced dry rust protective coating. Specially formulated to replace traditional oil protective coating, dry rust protection provides a longer lasting and improved protection against rust.
