NEW EUROPEAN SALES & MARKETING DIRECTOR FOR SANDVIK STEEL

Sandvik Steel has appointed Mr Sune Eriksson as European Sales & Marketing Director, effective from April 17, 2001. He will be based in Düsseldorf, Germany, and will be responsible for Sandvik Steel's sales and marketing organisation in West Europe.

Mr Eriksson, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business administration, has an extensive background in the stainless steel industry. He worked for Sandvik Steel between 1980 and 1989, becoming Marketing Manager for tubular products for the oil/gas- and the nuclear industries.

After that he has held various positions within the former Avesta Sheffield, now AvestaPolarit - most recently as Vice President - Sales and Marketing.

'With this new appointment we will further strengthen our position in the European market,' says Lars Pettersson, President of Sandvik Steel.
