Donaldson Company, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of filtration systems, and Polymer Group, Inc., a global leader in engineered fabrics, today announced a strategic relationship to produce industrial filter bag media that will transform the present standards in the baghouse industry.

Donaldson Torit(R) will incorporate PGI's award-winning Durapex(TM) nonwoven fabrics for filtration media in its first fit and replacement baghouse product line. PGI designed Durapex specifically to meet the EPA's National Ambient Air Quality Standard that calls for a limit of 2.5 micrometers for particulate matter.

"Teaming up with PGI enables us to deliver industrial air filtration solutions that offer superior value to our customers," said Steve Groves, global product director, Donaldson Torit. "The new relationship with PGI will allow us to offer the most innovative technology in the baghouse industry in decades."

"We are thrilled to be working with Donaldson, the world leader in filtration, to bring their customers a value-added alternative," said Rick Pearce, PGI's senior director of business marketing.

Award-winning Fabric
PGI's Durapex fabric was recognized as the most innovative new filtration medium by the American Filtration Society in 2003. Durapex also received Chemical Processing's 2003 Vaaler Award for developments that promise to significantly enhance plant operations or economics.

Durapex is made with PGI's proprietary APEX(R) technology, a sophisticated process that combines advanced web forming and hydroentangling techniques, along with highly developed finishing, to provide superior uniformity and tightly controlled pore-size distribution. The result is a fabric with high filtration efficiency and greater fabric strength than traditional needlefelt fabric.
