CONTROL MONITORS AUTONOMOUSLY AND LOCALLY OPERATED DESPITE NETWORKING
15 January 2007 - Kistler Instruments

Kistler offers a series of digital ControlMonitors (brand name: CoMo) for process analysis and monitoring based on, for example, force/time or force/displacement curves. The two network-capable systems CoMo Net Type 5863A1… and CoMo View Type 5863A2... have now been expanded by several options:

Kistler offers a series of digital ControlMonitors (brand name: CoMo) for process analysis and monitoring based on, for example, force/time or force/displacement curves. The two network-capable systems CoMo Net Type 5863A1… and CoMo View Type 5863A2... have now been expanded by several options:

An incremental input for displacement and angular measurement.

Support for the SSI interface for absolute displacement measurement.

The integrated Profibus connection with expanded functionality is now offering four different interface protocols (2 … 24 input bytes, 3 … 50 output bytes).

A Compact Flash memory card as buffer memory guarantees perfect data export even with network interruptions or server maintenance.

The expanded touch screen operation of CoMo View allows new installations or maintenance work on a system also without PC support. A terminal is available under the type designation 5629A1 which matches the CoMo View control unit. Up to 24 measuring channels (CoMo Net) can be configured in the network or their process results visualized via CoMo View or the terminal. CoMo View with integrated 5,7" touch screen color display and CoMo Net record and analyze force/time, force/displacement rotation angle curves and document them as quality verification. Real-time capability via digital I/Os as well as faster export of process and curve data considerably enhance process monitoring quality even at high machine cycles.

The Ethernet provides a homogeneous and standardized communication structure is used which ranges seamlessly from the office environment to the production cell.

About: Kistler Instruments
Kistler is one of the world's leading suppliers of measurement technology. Kistler pressure sensors, force sensors and accelerometers use the piezoelectric effect for precise measurement of mechanical properties.

Kistler is a privately-owned Swiss company which develops and manufactures sensors and electronics for measuring pressure, force and acceleration.

Additionally, the functionality of electronics plays an increasing role when defining a measuring system and even more frequently, electronics in fact becomes part of the sensor itself. Most of Kistler's products have been developed in close cooperation between leading universities or research facilities and Kistler's engineers.

Investments in Kistler's research department have led to the development of new crystals which enable reliable measurements to be taken under the most extreme environmental conditions. The results of our in-depth crystal research will give us a leading edge in advancing the state-of-the-art.
