AGC Glass Europe produces, processes and distributes flat glass for the construction, automotive and solar sectors. It boasts an R&D Centre and some 100 sites stretching across Europe. The company employs 14,000 people and is the European branch of AGC Glass, one of the world’s largest producers of flat glass.
Founded by Georg F. Hesselbach in 1971, Interpane employs 1200 people and operates mainly in Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland. Headquartered in Lauenförde, Germany, Interpane sells its glass products to the construction and solar industries and develops its own coating technology and equipment. The new partnership allows AGC Glass Europe to consolidate its position in the glass-coating sector and expand its industrial presence, most notably in the German flat glass market.
