Moog Controls started life in the UK in October 1965 as Moog Hydra-Point, based in Cheltenham, England. This new subsidiary was set up to manufacture and market the Moog Hydra-Point machines in the UK, South Africa and European common market. Nearly 40 years later, not only does MCL manufacture a suite of products for motion control applications, they are also active in the design and development of new and innovative solutions for precision control problems. Our team of highly skilled engineers can provide project support to assist our customers in the performance of a wide variety of applications including, motion simulators for training and entertainment, industrial gas turbine controls, plastics machinery controls, heavy industry, metal forming & pressing, and commercial and military ground vehicle controls. All Moog subsidiaries are represented by regional sales engineers backed by comprehensive product and engineering support teams. Add to this the global presence of Moog and you are ensured a competent partner to deliver and service you and your customers needs. MCL employs over 270 people on its Tewkesbury site, accommodated in 3 buildings, producing over 21,500 servovalves per annum.

Inc., Electric Products Division, has introduced a new Servo Gearmotor with a patented design that offers high performance, improved efficiency, high power density, maximum reliability, optimized heat transfer, and smaller package size for industrial applications. This product features a low backlash single stage gearbox integrated with a high-performance servomotor. It is available in three frame sizes (55 mm, 70 mm and 100 mm) with two defined gear ratios per frame size, combined with four motor stack lengths.

To lower both the noise emission and the high and low-pressure pulsation, the number of pistons of a radial piston pump is increased from 7 to 9. By means of CFD and FE calculation the suction path of the RKP is optimized as a compromise between hydraulic (low pressure drop, small inductivity) and mechanic (small deformation, low stresses) functionality. Pressure drop along the suction path was reduced by 20%. The sound emission of the new radial piston pump generation was reduced by up to 5dB(A) in sound power that corresponds to a reduction of wide more than 50%. A new stroke ring design eliminates a possible place of wear. Moog has also received FM certification (Class 1, Division 1, Group B, C, D) for the D633K and D634K Direct Drive Valve Series. FM Certification is used in the USA for explosion-proof environments.
