The Colorant Chromatics Group announces that they are setting up a production and marketing facility in Shanghai, named Shanghai Colorant Chromatics Co Ltd. Shanghai Colorant Chromatics started its operation in August this year. The compounding operation will start in November 2003.

The state-of-the-art facility is a project of Cabot Chemical (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., an equity joint venture between a Cabot subsidiary, Cabot (China) Limited, and Shanghai Coking Chemical Company, a member of the Huayi Group. Cabot Chemical (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. invested approximately US$60 million to construct the plant with an annual capacity of 105,000 metric tons.

AMODEL AT-6130 HS polyphthalamide resin is one of a new family of PPA materials developed by Solvay Advanced Polymers, L.L.C. This glass-fiber reinforced grade was originally designed to be used for snap-fit electronic connectors in the automotive industry. To that end, this grade exhibits greater elongation than other AMODEL products that are 30% glass-fiber reinforced.
