64-bit support offered for specialized design software

VISTAGY, Inc., a leading global provider of specialized engineering software, announced that all its software, including the EnCapta product family and the FiberSIM suite of software, is available for 64-bit Windows x64 editions, optimized for the AMD Opteron processor.
As a result, manufacturers using VISTAGY’s software now have access to nearly unlimited processing power to accurately and efficiently develop complete digital product models of complex parts or assemblies.

Design engineers face computing challenges including low memory and slow system performance when developing large and complex digital models within 32-bit environments. Engineers are often forced to divide models or datasets in order to comply with memory constraints. They also use simplification techniques such as removing rounds or chamfers from part designs to improve performance. These tactics can lead to design inaccuracies that may significantly increase product development cycles and manufacturing costs or impact the producibility of a product or part.

With AMD64 computing power and VISTAGY’s EnCapta software applications, manufacturers can develop product models of any size or level of complexity with improved precision and accuracy. Design engineers now have the flexibility of running both 32- and 64-bit applications simultaneously, allowing them to grow into AMD64 technology at their own pace and retain existing IT assets to save on equipment and power costs. In addition, 64-bit technology enables design engineers to optimize performance and increase design speed in order to achieve faster time-to-part.
