A new colour merchandising programme

The Spirit Concept is a distinctive colour marketing approach which enables manufacturers to distinguish their offerings from all the others. It has all the features of a 'made-to-order' system without the heavy up-front investment usually required to design new systems. The Spirit Concept features three distinctive yet flexible programmes.
CPS COLOR officially launches the Spirit Concept: a comprehensive colour merchandising programme. The Spirit Concept has been created to support the total colour solutions tinting systems from CPS COLOR.

The Spirit Concept is a distinctive colour marketing approach which enables manufacturers to distinguish their offerings from all the others. It has all the features of a 'made-to-order' system without the heavy up-front investment usually required to design new systems. The Spirit Concept features three distinctive yet flexible programmes.

Spirit Standard is a turnkey, stocked programme which can be ordered off the shelf. The tools in this programme come with standard features but can also be personalised at a nominal cost.

Spirit Unique enables customers to use unfinished inventory to create a customised programme. Variations include changes in shape, size, language and number systems. This is a custom-made, market-specific programme in which customers play a role in the product development.

Spirit Ultimate is the most flexible of the three programmes, as it exists in the mind only. The only limit is the imagination. CPS COLOR can provide all the assistance required to develop the ultimate programme, from technical support to colour consultation.
Key features

The key strength of the Spirit Concept is the comprehensive nature of its offering. The variety of tools within the programme also ensures that CPS COLOR customers have the tools they need to reach key markets such as DIY, Contractors/Specifiers and Painters. Another key feature of the programme is the palette itself, which is presented in an appropriate 'let down' of colours. The idea of colour 'let downs' of is a common one and essential for success in all markets, but especially in North America.

The value proposition of the Spirit Concept is its built-in flexibility. 'In the past,' says Nina Mähönen, Product Manager, Colour Marketing, 'CPS COLOR and its customers would have to invest in customised systems for each market segment. This was a very laborious and costly endeavour. Now, with the Spirit Concept, the basic building blocks exist in an unfinished product.

This allows CPS COLOR and its customers to create distinctive tools at much lower cost and in less time, with the exception of highly customised orders. The Spirit Concept is fast and flexible when compared with more traditional colour tool models in the marketplace today.'

Colour designer Martine Mäkijärvi is responsible for the development of various CPS COLOR collections, including the Spirit Concept. CPS COLOR considers it essential to constantly invest in the renewal of colourants. Martine Mäkijärvi is a member of the international Colour Marketing Group.

CPS COLOR initially introduced the 1470 colour Spirit palette at Farbe 2002 in Munich, Germany. Since then Spirit has evolved from a palette to a total merchandising concept which now includes 1750 colours. The Spirit Concept is the latest component in a totally integrated tinting system which also includes high-strength colourants, dispensing and mixing machines, software, technical support and colour consultation. All Spirit products are sold only to CPS COLOR colourant customers.
