Sherry, headquartered in Daleville, Indiana, provides a broad range of testing services to the aerospace, oil & gas and power generation industries. The 66-year-old company has laboratories supporting over 6,000 clients throughout Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma and Louisiana.
The acquisition reinforces Element’s core growth objective, which is to provide an unrivalled materials testing service focused specifically on the aerospace, oil & gas, transportation and power generation sectors.
Charles Noall, President and CEO of Element Materials Technology, said: “Sherry Laboratories has a great reputation and first class testing facilities, but the company’s most valuable asset is its people. This acquisition is a superb fit for Element and we are very much looking forward to bringing Sherry’s numerous engineers, scientists and technicians on board to join forces with our own engaged experts.”
“Sherry’s Nadcap accredited facilities have also been approved by aerospace primes including Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Honeywell, Bombardier and GE Aviation, which further adds to Element’s own prime approvals held across a wide range of laboratories. In addition, the company serves a large number of oil & gas customers through its materials testing, petrochemical and environmental, services. The addition of these clients to our existing portfolio significantly strengthens Element’s position within the US oil & gas testing industry.”
Commenting on the transaction, Chris LaMothe, CEO of Sherry Laboratories, said “We are delighted that we have been able to join forces with Element. This deal will enable Sherry to offer its customers an even broader range of testing services and capabilities, and we look forward to playing a critical role in the continued success of the Element Group.”
This latest deal by Element follows a number of significant acquisitions in the last fifteen months, including MAR-TEST of Cincinnati, Ohio, Detroit Testing Laboratories of Warren, Michigan, and UK-based polymer engineering and testing specialists MERL.
