Akzo Nobel Car Refinishes has introduced a new version of its highly successful CarInfo bodyshop management system that is being rolled out in Western Europe at the moment. CarInfo³ is the successor to the CarInfo II package, which currently has some 2,000 users in northwestern Europe.
The CarInfo system is designed for bodyshops that are not affiliated to a single car brand, or for dealer organizations with repair activities that are not integrated with the dealer business.
The new package offers improved integration with our other IT systems, such as the Mixit system and a range of new e-business applications.
CarInfo³ is an advanced Windows-based product using Java technology and is fully prepared to interact with Internet applications. Users can therefore communicate faster and more effectively with key accounts and insurers. Internet transmissions of photographs of car damage, calculations, invoices and orders can considerably reduce processing times for repairs. The system also generates extensive management information for internal and external use.
The software is extremely user-friendly, using easy to understand icons, texts and graphics to facilitate calculations. A tree structure provides an instant overview making the program intuitively logical and easy to learn. CarInfo³ is a multi-user system that enables body shops to manage the car repair process quickly and efficiently from a single central point. The new package includes an online help function and online support services.
The first phase of the rollout is now complete. The system is available in every country in Europe. 'With CarInfo³ we believe we have a worthy successor to CarInfo II, which will help us to consolidate our market position and expand it through technological leadership', says Product Manager Paul van Eldik. |
