Alcoa has announced today that it has been selected by Ferrari to supply the space-frame for the coming F-430.
The F-430 will replace the 360 Modena and will establish new standards for the performance of automotive aluminium structures. It will also continue the close cooperative relationship between Ferrari and Alcoa that began with the debut of the 360 Modena in 1999.
'Alcoa is very excited about working with Ferrari on the F430. This continues collaboration between our two companies that has already produced two of the most exciting sports cars in the world - the 360 Modena and 612 Scaglietti. We are dedicated to making sure the F430 will continue to give Ferrari the aluminium structural technology necessary for them to meet their goals of combining scintillating performance with superb passenger safety and comfort,' according to Misha Riveros-Jacobson, president of Alcoa Advanced Transportation Systems (AATS).
The AATS spaceframe manufacturing facility is co-located within the Ferrari plant in Modena, Italy.
