Barlo Plastics offers BARLO SPC, a product especially useful in a wide range of roofing applications. BARLO SPC is extruded from Polycarbonate resin, the material of choice for the roofing sector. |
|
BARLO SPC is a multi-wall sheet extruded from polycarbonate - a unique engineering thermoplastic resin which gives high levels of mechanical, thermal and optical properties which are essential in a wide range of roofing applications. In essence Multi-wall polycarbonate is virtually unbreakable, lighter in weight and offers much higher insulation values, making it a safe alternative to more traditional sheet products.
BARLO SPC is also impact resistant and provides energy saving. It also features a protection system which provides resistance against degradation caused by UV radiation from sunlight.
The key properties of BARLO SPC allow the product to be used as an alternative to glass, PVC, Acrylic or GRP in roofing and cladding applications.
The 10-year guarantee for optical , mechanical properties and for hail resistance on products above 10mm and above, reinforce these values. The product is certified according to the SIA 280 standard for its hail resistance.
Barlo SPC sheet provides excellent roofing span capabilities based on its mechanical properties. Barlo Plastics offer products of 2m width and length up to 7m. This allows larger areas for light transmission with more design freedom and less intrusive glazing profiles.
BARLO SPC sheets have been tested in various institutes in France, Germany, UK and the Netherlands for fire performance and hail impact resistance. The thermal insulation of Barlo SPC means a considerable energy saving. The light transmission and a colour variation with opal and bronze offer an aesthetic appeal putting a new perspective in roofing and cladding possibilities.
BARLO SPC meets the needs for decorative roofing. The applications of Barlo SPC are industrial roofs, sidewalls, commercial greenhouses, stadiums, atriums, sunrooms, swimming pools, conservatory, shopping malls, walkways and metro or railway stations.
Multi-wall polycarbonate sheet range has recently been extended to include a range of new colours such as 'Opal 3B', developed for the building market where lower light transmission and reflection of heat is required- especially useful in South Europe and tropical regions.
'Opal 6B', with a light transmission 5% for sheets with a 10mm thickness, is also specially designed for applications in illuminated signage. A new thickness of 32 mm offers better thermal insulation whilst providing excellent light transmission for roofing and cladding applications.
BARLO SPC is available in the following sheet sizes: thickness can go from 4mm up to 32mm, including frequently asked 6,10,16 and 25 mm thick. Up to 20 mm we offer 2100 mm wide sheets and all other thicknesses are available in 980,1050 and 1200 mm wide. Standard colours are: Clear, Opal, Opal 3B, Opal 6B, Bronze.
In addition to the standard range, special dimensions can be produced on request, but can be subject to minimum order quantities. |
