Association's industry affiliate scheme relaunches, following extensive restructure

Institute Of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) : 11 February, 2014  (Company News)
The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining’s (IOM3) Industry Affiliate Scheme was established in 1996 and aims to develop partnerships with organisations working in the materials sector.
The Industry Affiliate Scheme was originally established to support SMEs who do not have in-house materials expertise, are diversifying or who want specific access to materials, mining and minerals data. Over the last 17 years IAS has broadened its appeal and now counts a significant number of large multinational organisations within its membership.

The Industry Affiliate Scheme offers organisations access to the consultancy services of the Materials Information Service who have knowledge and understanding of materials and processing.

The Industry Affiliate Scheme offers both full and affiliate membership options. Full membership fees are linked to the size of an organisation and an incentivised membership rate is available to academic institutions. Membership fees are annual and site specific however any employee on that site can access the scheme.

Member benefits are focused around the following areas:-
  • Technical support
  • Professional Development of Staff
  • Access to materials information and research
  • Raising a member’s profile within the materials community
Now, in the relaunched version of IAS, new features have been added to the membership package to ensure the IAS scheme delivers maximum benefit to its members.
  • Discounted IOM3 group membership for apprentices and technicians working within a member organisation.
  • Increased discounts on IOM3 products and services.
  • Increased online and virtual access to member benefits.
  • Both full and affiliate membership options are available, offering graded access to benefits.
Kate Harrison, IAS Co-ordinator said. “The relaunch of the Industry Affiliate Scheme underlines our commitment to support and actively engage with industry. The scheme’s extended and focused benefits package has been created to deliver maximum value to members.”
