Barlo Plastics launches BARLO SPC diamond, a multiwall polycarbonate sheet

Leading sheet extruder Barlo Plastics launches BARLO SPC diamond, a multiwall polycarbonate sheet aimed at the conservatory and construction market. The new sheet has a diamond structure and newly developed solar control layer to reduce heat build up.
Leading sheet extruder Barlo Plastics launches BARLO SPC diamond, a multiwall polycarbonate sheet aimed at the conservatory and construction market. Many conservatories cannot be used during summer months, as solar radiation causes unwanted heat build up. The new sheet has a diamond structure and newly developed solar control layer to reduce heat build up.

The new pattern shows stiffness improvements over current BARLO SPC designs, which will allow wider spacing of glazing bars. In addition, although the sheet weight has been reduced the k (u) value has been maintained at an excellent level.

BARLO SPC diamond sheet is available in 4 thickness variants, 2 standard sheet sizes and 5 colours, to allow fabricators to offer the best construction choice. Most importantly, tests have shown that a reduction of room temperature of up to 17C can be expected, using the Diamond Cool White option.

Barlo Plastics have also developed Diamond Super Cool White sheet, which gives an attractive opal look to the external face, while still allowing a 40% light transmission value to be achieved. This product is particularly suited to areas where privacy is also an issue.

Both sheet ranges offer a 10- year warranty against yellowing and also show increased mechanical stiffness over more traditional conservatory roofing materials.

Barlo Business Director Ayub Adam commented, 'The launch of the Diamond range of multi wall polycarbonate sheets is yet another demonstration of the Barlo Plastics commitment to developing products that offer 'real world' solutions to common industry problems. I am sure that our Super Cool White look sheets will not only look stylish, but they will allow year round conservatory use now that we are enjoying hotter summers.'
