BCcomponents launches world's first 175
|
Vishay Electronic
: 30 March, 2001 (New Product) |
|
BCcomponents today became the first company to deliver a surface-mount electrolytic capacitor rated at 175 |
|
The Hi-TMP 175 range was developed in response to the growing demand for significantly increased specifications and exceptional lifetimes in an SMD package. BCcomponents claims that the new capacitor is so highly specified that it is virtually a 'no risk design-in' product.
BCcomponents expects the product to be in great demand from customers designing high-end applications such as next generation mobile network infrastructure and power supplies to in-car multimedia systems.
According to the company, the response to the Hi-TMP 175 has been extremely positive. Leif Schwan, BCcomponents' Global Industry Director for Industrial Systems comments, 'Since we first revealed details of the Hi-TMP 175 family of products at Electronica in November 2000, we have been very pleased with the level of interest we have had from customers. This is clearly a product the market has been waiting for. We are now in a position to begin supplying the Hi-TMP 175 and are working with our industry partners to help produce even more breakthroughs in 2001'.
The Solid Aluminium technology employed in the Hi-TMP is a major factor in the product's excellent reliability, providing higher ripple current and large reverse voltage capabilities, even at higher temperatures.
The Hi-TMP 175 is available up to 68 µF, offers increased ripple current capabilities and decreased ESR values, making it ideal for buffering, smoothing and filtering. As a surface mount product, it combines high temperature reflow capabilities with ease of placement. With circuit modification, the performance of the Hi-TMP 175 can be used in applications currently requiring tantalum and 'Os-con' products. Samples available on request. |
