The potential benefits of robotic and automated food manufacturing systems, such as consistently high levels of safety and quality, high productivity and lower operating costs, are powerful drivers for many food companies. However, in the past, the unwary have been caught out by inappropriate implementation, with promised benefits not being fully realised.
