Cutting and marking with the same torch

Fabricators often need the flexibility to cut with plasma and mark cut parts just as quickly as they can cut them. Until now, marking has been regarded more as a secondary process but the facility to cut and mark using the same plasma torch on a CNC profiling machine has been introduced by ESAB Automation. |

Fabricators often need the flexibility to cut with plasma and mark cut parts just as quickly as they can cut them. Until now, marking has been regarded more as a secondary process but the facility to cut and mark using the same plasma torch on a CNC profiling machine has been introduced by ESAB Automation.
The Arc Marker consists of power supply, arc starter with solenoids and a plasma torch with shielded torch leads. It allows the fabricator to cut, sign and mark mild or stainless steels using the plasma torch as the marking tool. Dots, lines, letters and numbers can be produced with a low current plasma arc transferred to the surface of the material.
For many industries, such as shipbuilding, marking utilises as many hours as actual cutting operations. The new Arc Marker recognizes this need and can be supplied with ESAB's full range of plasma cutting machines. |
