Deworming deluxe: flavored deworming tablets

Cold, wet weather, even a dog would prefer to stay at home on a day like this. Cold, wet weather, even a dog would prefer to stay at home on a day like this. Nobody has any great enthusiasm for extended walkies through the woods; instead, dad just takes the family pet once round the block or to the nearest patch of grass last thing at night. But despite the shortness of the trip, the risk of your four-legged friend contracting worms is still high. That’s why steps should be taken to rid the dog of these parasites as quickly as possible.

Worms are one of the most common parasites affecting dogs. The ways they can be transmitted are many and varied: for example, worm eggs or larvae can be ingested from the environment or via contact with other dogs and their droppings. Even dogs that spend a lot of time indoors are at risk. For example, they can be infected with worms by eggs sticking to the sole of a shoe or the parasite can be transmitted by fleas. In fully grown animals, infestation with worms is difficult to diagnose. In young animals, however, worm infections can even lead to death if left untreated.

“Thanks to our research, it is now possible to protect animals against all relevant species of roundworm and tapeworm with just one treatment of the right animal health product,” explains Dr. Olaf Hansen, a veterinarian at Bayer Vital GmbH. Swallowing tablets is not something that dogs do voluntarily, however, which is why most pet owners face a real challenge when it is time to administer the medicine. But now this problem is a thing of the past: Leverkusen’s animal health experts have developed flavored deworming tablets which dogs enjoy eating, making deworming almost a pleasure. For more information, consult your veterinarian or visit www.wurmfrei.de (German-language only).

Regular deworming with four delicious deworming treatments
Experts recommend that all dogs aged above three months should be dewormed at least every three months. Regular treatment not only keeps animals healthy but helps to presernce human health. Commends Dr. Olaf Hansen, “No pet owner likes to see his dog suffering from worms. Worms are not only unappetising but are also potentially carriers of diseases that can be passed on to humans as well.” Thanks to the new flavored tablets from Bayer HealthCare, worms are no longer a problem.

Our tip: “Ask in your veterinary practice for four tasty deworming treatments.”
