Distrupol consolidates Nordic market with strong showing at Scanplast 2003

Attending its first Scanplast exhibition since integrating the business of MBS Plastics in 2001, Distrupol confirmed its position as a leading European polymer distributor, technical service and solutions provider.
Using the company’s signature theme of ‘Knowledge that delivers’, Distrupol presented a segmented supplier/product display that linked product solutions with commercialised applications and clearly demonstrated the materials expertise and technical assistance contributed by the company in aiding the development of these customer programmes.

The broad knowledge-base that underpins Distrupol’s customer support was evident in the comprehensive line-up of materials from major global producers distributed by Distrupol throughout the Nordic region. These span LDPE, PP, PVC, PS, TPV, ABS, POM , PA, and many more polymers, both specialty and commodity resins.

“There is no doubt that we offer the most complete package of materials solutions,” says Thomas Andersson, Commercial Director of Distrupol’s Nordic area. “The names of our supply sources assure our customers of quality products and the depth of our product basket gives them the confidence that we can meet their manufacturing needs, whatever they are.”

This supply capability is borne out by the spread of industries currently being served by Distrupol. These range from the automotive, electrical and electronics sectors to the white goods, consumer durables, packaging and construction markets, component examples of which were displayed at Scanplast.

“Our presentation drew wide visitor interest even from existing customers. Because we are a highly dynamic business there are always new developments to show and to share. New materials being added to our portfolio and fresh examples of the technical know-how we can bring to customers’ projects,” Andersson explained.

“It is this continuous pushing back of boundaries that makes Distrupol an attractive partner, particularly in the Nordic region which is a quite close industrial community in spite of its diversity.”

Distrupol’s drive to build its leadership position as a full-service supplier is exemplified by its ongoing distributorship wins in the marketplace. The most recent of these has added the full range of DuPont’s engineering polymers and Solvay’s specialist fluoropolymers to its solutions resources. Principal products represented now include materials from Basell, Toray, DSM, Exxon, LG Chemicals and Lucite International, among those of other key producers.

Distrupol’s presentation at Scanplast also included the unveiling of the company’s new corporate image. Following almost two years of acquisitions and expansion throughout Europe, Distrupol has unified its identity under a single unique logo and the corporate signature ‘Knowledge that delivers’, which summarises the company’s know-how, experience and its responsiveness and commitment to the markets it serves.
