|
Du Pont Engineering Polymers
: 24 February, 2004 (Company News) |
|
The DuPont Awards for Innovation in Packaging programme is entering its 17th year. |
|
In 2004, the company is once again inviting the packaging industry worldwide to enter the competition by submitting Food and Non-Food packaging advances in which plastics fulfil important functions. Awards are presented in both categories.
Projects can come from any point in the supply chain, including packaging design, packaging technology and machinery. The closing date for all entries is April 22, 2004. The awards ceremony will be held on August 6, 2004 at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Phladelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
Projects eligible for entry must have been first marketed, test marketed or put into commercial use between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2003. For products that are not mass-produced, such as machinery, contract orders must have been received during this period. Entries can be submitted by individuals or teams. Joint projects involving several companies are also encouraged. The competition rules and entry forms can be downloaded from our website:

An international, independent judging panel selects winners for the overall Diamond Award, the Gold and Silver Awards and any 'Special Citations' in the food and non-food categories. The judging panel consists of qualified experts from the food processing and packaging industries, machinery manufacturers, educational institutions, environmental organisations, trade organisations and the trade press. The evaluation criteria used include the degree of innovation, breadth of application, benefits to industry / consumers, the opportunity for new marketing approaches and the potential influence on buying decisions.
The competition is sponsored by DuPont in cooperation with the Campden & Chorleywood Food Research Association in Gloucestershire, England and the National Food Processors Association in Washington, DC, USA. |
