At Luxe Pack 2003 DuPont unveiled its new strategy for the design and development of innovative packaging concepts for and with the cosmetic and personal care industry. The company also presented cutting-edge material solutions offering exceptional and differentiated aesthetic and functional benefits.

Building on the unique know-how and capabilities of DuPont in materials and across many industries and design disciplines, this new approach seeks to inspire designers and brand owners alike, and enable them to create innovative, winning packaging solutions.
The first symbol of this novel strategy was presented in ‘avant première’ during the show: the new Surlyn® Discovery Kit. Designed to convey the sensorial characteristics of Surlyn® without any connection to its current applications, the Discovery Kit consists of 7 emblematic objects, each with a different colour and surface effect, as well as a CD-ROM suggesting new ways to explore the many possibilities and the versatility of this unique material.
“DuPont is committed to bringing “miracles of science” to the world of beauty, together with partners who share our passion for innovation. Our vision is to enhance the consumer experience with new, differentiated cosmetic solutions that offer fun, emotion and wellbeing. I am very excited about the possibilities of our new materials, technologies, and textures, that will allow us and our partners to gain consumer preference”, says Heike van de Kerkhof, recently named Global Director DuPont Cosmetic Solutions. |
