In order to maintain a healthy business performance in the current economic environment, DuPont Engineering Polymers must improve its productivity and cost position. Consequently, DuPont has conducted an in-depth study of its European compounding network. The results show that a substantial efficiency improvement can be obtained by concentrating all its European nylon resin compounding capacity in Uentrop, Germany and in Mechelen, Belgium.
DuPont is committed to be a leader in engineering polymers and to drive innovation, thus enabling our customers to grow by providing them with new solutions in product and application development.
Subject to agreement by all parties concerned, DuPont will make every effort to re-deploy personnel where it is possible and will provide out-placement help and support for all employees. Unfortunately, it is anticipated that involuntary separations will be unavoidable. DuPont will respect all contractual notice periods and severance payment conditions.
DuPont will establish a programme to communicate and explain to all its customers if - and how - this might impact on the products they obtain from this site. It is expected that there will be minimal disruption to the supply of existing products. During the proposed close down phase, any re-qualification of products that would be considered necessary will incorporate procedures agreed with our customers. |
