Eagle One, a business unit of the Valvoline division, has introduced a new product
Ashland Inc
: 09 March, 2005 (Company News) |
The new product, Bucket-Free Car Wash, does just what the name implies - eliminates the need for a bucket of soapy water and the extra work that comes with it! And because the dirt and grime from the bucket of water is no longer re applied to the car, the final result is a superior clean and shine. |
'This product has been in the works for more than a year,' says Lorna Willis, Eagle One brand manager. 'Originally the idea came out of ideation sessions, and when we presented the concept to consumers, they loved it! Their 'purchase intent' scores were also really high, indicating they were willing to actually buy the product.'
Armed with positive consumer feedback the Eagle One marketing team put the concept through all the hoops, following all six steps in Ashland's new solutions development (NSD) process. The result - a great product that consumers love. Bucket-Free Car Wash was also thoroughly tested at Valvoline's new product lab as well as by external consumers prior to being sold to retailers.
One consumer who used the product says, 'This is the product that fits me well and I would buy. No buckets. No mess. No pouring out the water. Just wipe and go - I love it!' Another says, 'I used the product on four vehicles. It is very concentrated and removed dirt, tree sap, and road grime. I am utterly amazed by this product.' |
