ESAB Aristo SuperPulse expands pulse MIG/MAG advantages to thinner sheet and thicker plates

ESAB Group : 25 October, 2004  (New Product)
Aristo SuperPulse is a further development of the pulse/pulse concept, expanding the scope of the pulse MIG/MAG-process to thinner sheet and thicker plates in stainless or aluminium.
By combining the pulse arc mode with the short arc mode on the low-heat input side, and with the spray arc mode on the high heat-input side, two completely new MIG/MAG arc types are created each with specific advantages.

The pulse/short arc mode enables spatter free welding of aluminium sheet, from 0.6mm thickness, and very thin stainless steel, as well as the MIG/MAG-brazing of very thin material. Its use includes productivity on welding of root passes, replacing the much slower TIG process while preserving the TIG weld appearance.

Spray/pulse arc mode is used for more productive positional welding of thick aluminium. Welding speed and even penetration are provided during the spray arc phase, whereas heat input is reduced during the pulse arc phase. This arc mode enables vertical-up welding of aluminium, for example without any weaving motion.

These new arc types complement the pulse/pulse arc mode used for welding medium thickness and thin material.

Aristo SuperPulse is fundamentally a software solution included in the operator pendant, AristoPendant U8. However, the entire MIG/MAG set is designed to support rapid changes of arc modes.

A complete Aristo SuperPulse package for manual welding consists of an AristoMig inverter power source, the AristoFeed 30-4 wire feed unit, the AristoPendant U8, welding torch and accessories.

Aristo SuperPulse is also available incorporated in Aristo Process Packages for mechanised or robotic applications with the welding wire fed from either ESAB Marathon Pac or Marathon Pac Endless version.
