ESAB offers heavy duty plasma cutting with Powercut 1500 Plasmarc

ESAB Group : 03 October, 2003  (New Product)
Offering more performance features than any other machine in its class, the Powercut 1500 Plasmarc heavy duty manual plasma cutting and gouging package from ESAB is able to cope with the stringent demands of any workplace.
Designed for rugged treatment and outdoor use, the Powercut 1500 Plasmarc is housed in a tough weatherproof casing, is able to handle poor input power lines and is protected against improper input voltage. Operating costs are minimised thanks to long-life wear parts and a repairable torch.

With a setting range of 20-90 Amps, the very powerful package is suitable for most plasma cutting applications - from thin plate up to 38mm mild steel, and is able to gouge grooves approximately 8x8mm per straight run.

Features include HF Pilot arc start for starting on painted and coated metals and an auto drag feature that allows the torch to drag on the workpiece up to 40A for easy cutting when using a template.

An optional special drag nozzle for use on up to 40A reduces wear consumption whilst a special heat shield with metal feet allows drag cutting above 40A. To optimise gouging, a special gouging nozzle and heat shield are also available.

The ergonomic torch and power source are both designed to optimise performance, minimise the number of components and increase the lifetime of all wear parts to ensure higher production rates at a lower cost.

Further features designed for ease of use include a trigger lock-in for operator comfort during longer cuts, multiple trouble shooting lights on the front panel and two switches on the torch to allow the operator to choose the best position for cutting and gouging.
