Extended range of hollow bar for machining

Sandvik Coromant UK : 04 September, 2000  (Company News)
Following the recent launch of its 'New Generation' of SANMAC stainless steel Hollow Bar for machining, Sandvik Steel has announced the introduction of another new grade.
Based on the Wnr 1.4571 stainless steel standard, the new grade, designated SANMAC 4571, is Titanium alloyed to improve structural stability and has higher mechanical strength than the standard 316 grade. Market demand indicates that a Titanium alloyed grade is the preferred option in many central European markets for producing pump and valve components and for general machining.

Previously only available from Sandvik in solid bar form, SANMAC 4571 claims to double machine tool life compared with competitor materials tested. At the same time, it offers increases in productivity of up to 30% by utilising higher feed rates and speed settings, greatly improved chip breaking and a better surface finish after machining.

SANMAC 4571 is manufactured in outside diameters from 32mm to 250mm and is available from stock in a wide range of sizes.

A key feature of the supply of SANMAC hollow bar is Sandvik Steel's production and distribution capability. Production is located centrally at Sandvik's manufacturing plant in Sweden. This enables close control and monitoring of material properties from melt to melt and guarantees consistent machining quality from batch to batch. There is a fully automated central warehouse supported by distribution centres and regional stocks worldwide.
