Standard-pitch screening cans for the most demanding applications are now available off-the-shelf from leading specialist, Tecan. They offer design, development and production engineers a fast and effective means of sourcing radio frequency interference screening solutions at optimum cost. |
|
Making costly tooling and long lead times things of the past, the standard screening can range encompasses a wide range of sizes and options, allowing users to select components which assure both maximum RFI performance and compatibility with individual production requirements.
Over three decades of experience and expertise has resulted in a progressive portfolio of screening cans which cater for all current electro-mechanical requirements, including low-profile and surface-mount offerings. Based on standard component pitches, the cans can be supplied in a wide choice of lids, sidewalls, and mountings.
The selection process is made simple through the company's website, www.tecan.co.uk , which now includes new information regarding the whole range along with downloadable dimensional drawings. Ordering on-line is also available. Where necessary, comprehensive technical support is offered.
Eight standard configurations include, a 4-sided can with a spring fingered lid, a 4-sided surface-mount fence with a spring-fingered lid, a 4-sided can with a plain folded lid, a 5-sided can formed and spot welded, a 5-sided can formed for surface mount, a 5-sided can supplied flat for self-forming, a total enclosure with a spring-fingered lid, and a 4-sided fence with 2 spring-fingered lids. The standard pitch system utilised covers 20mm x 20mm to 75mm x 125mm. Low-profile cans are available down to 2.5mm high
The company uses a range of well-established and proven manufacturing techniques, such as photo chemical machining and punch/press progression tooling, to provide cans for the most demanding low, medium or high-volume production needs. Manufacturing facilities include a purpose-built high-specification facility with both Class-1000 and Class-100 clean areas and in-house plating. All parts are produced within a strict and fully-traceable BS EN ISO 9001:2000 quality-control regime. |
