FlightSafety International, Inc., has selected Moog Inc. to provide the electric motion bases and electro-mechanical actuators for its flight simulators. Moog is the designated supplier for the 60 in. stroke 6 Degrees of Freedom motion bases and electric control loading actuators.

Moog Inc. developed electric motion bases and control loading actuators to be a direct replacement for hydraulic systems of FSI’s simulators. Moog has worked with FlightSafety for over 15 years on hydraulic systems and has leveraged its expertise in hydraulic and electric technologies to develop a new functional replacement that is energy efficient and clean, while maintaining the same high performance.

“Moog is a leader in providing the performance, reliability, and ease of integration that the industry is looking for in motion systems,” said Martin Berardi, Vice President and General Manager, Moog Inc. “We are pleased to be supplying this innovative system to one of our valued long term partners for their next generation simulators.”

These electric systems meet or exceed the requirements of all regulatory authority for their highest level of qualification.

FlightSafety has proposed this equipment on future programs such as, Flight School XXI, V-22, C-17, and others.
