Global Imaging picks Matrox MED Series display controllers to power DIAM Box diagnostic stations

Matrox Graphics Inc., today announced that Global Imaging, a leader in image processing and communication, has selected the Matrox MED Series of display controllers to drive its DIAM Box diagnostic workstations, and will be optimizing its DIAM4 image management system for the Matrox MED Series of display controllers using the Matrox Imaging Library software development toolkit.
Matrox Graphics Inc., today announced that Global Imaging, a leader in image processing and communication, has selected the Matrox MED Series of display controllers to drive its DIAM Box diagnostic workstations, and will be optimizing its DIAM4 image management system for the Matrox MED Series of display controllers using the Matrox Imaging Library software development toolkit.

Bringing advanced functionality and flexibility to the medical imaging market, the Matrox MED Series of display controller boards is capable of driving all types of displays, and features extensive multi-monitor support, pristine image quality and rock-solid drivers. Ideal solutions for medical imaging professionals who demand the utmost in flexibility, quality and product features, Matrox MED Series display controllers now also support Open GL in grayscale modes, and continue to offer the widest range of color and grayscale, resolution and operating system support on the market. Used in conjunction with the MIL software development toolkit for image capture, processing, analysis, display and archiving, the Matrox MED Series provides radiologists with a fast and comprehensive product bundle, increasing productivity and accuracy in diagnosis.

The Matrox MED Series of display controllers represents a top-to-bottom solution capable of a scope of display configurations for landscape and portrait modes ranging from two through five megapixels, such as the MED2mp-DVI, MED3mp-DVI, MED5mp-DVI and MED5mp, and includes a variety of color and grayscale models with analog and digital display support. Designed to meet the demanding needs of medical imaging professionals, the MED Series boards come equipped with Matrox's multi-monitor features, such as Multi-Pivot/Portrait and MultiDesk, and the ultimate in visual quality and reliability.

A leader in medical imaging and medical data processing, Global Imaging's DIAM4 image management system receives images in DICOM format and examines the DICOM files, compressing them to WAVELET, JPEG 2000 or JPEG formats. The DIAM4 image management system then stores the images and includes study information in a database, and allows for visualization and manipulation of the stored images. Used in conjunction with the DIAM Viewer, medical imaging professionals can add treatment and visualization functions such as windowing, zooming, layout, distances, angles and areas to the stored images, which can be viewed in landscape or portrait format.
