Great Lakes adds Anox 330 to range of high performance phenolic antioxidants

|
Great Lakes Chemical Corporation has announced the launch of Anox 330, a high performance phenolic antioxidant for polyolefins and other plastics. |
|
Antioxidants such as Great Lakes’ line of hindered phenolic products are added in small amounts to protect plastic performance by preventing loss of mechanical strength, cracking, crazing, yellowing, and loss of gloss due to day-to-day exposure to air and light. For example, without an antioxidant, the housing of a white refrigerator would yellow, develop crazes, and eventually could even crack.
Anox 330 is a new addition to the Great Lakes comprehensive portfolio of hindered phenolic antioxidants. Anox 330 is a long-term heat-ageing (LTHA) and processing stabiliser which demonstrates outstanding benefits when used in polyolefin and other plastic applications. Benefits include a high resistance to extraction in applications such as polyolefin water pipes, reduced water carry-over during the production of polyolefin film and tape, and very low impact on the dielectric constant in the production of polyolefin wire and cable.
Anox 330 is available as a single component antioxidant or can be supplied in granular form as one component of a ‘one pack’ Anox No Dust Blend (NDB) system that is customised for individual applications. In addition to more accurate dosage and less waste, Anox 330 blends can reduce the high melting point of the Anox 330 component, thereby improving handling and dispersibility.
