GT launches new wear resistant thermoplastic, ARHT

The newest member of Greene, Tweed's wear-resistant thermoplastic family, ARHT, provides outstanding chemical, thermal shock and impact resistance, making it an ideal replacement for rubber, bronze and ceramic materials in extreme conditions commonly found in pump environments.
The newest member of Greene, Tweed's wear-resistant thermoplastic family, ARHT, provides outstanding chemical, thermal shock and impact resistance, making it an ideal replacement for rubber, bronze and ceramic materials in extreme conditions commonly found in pump environments.

Greene, Tweed developed this proprietary thermoplastic material specifically for use as bearings, bushings and wear rings. In pumps handling abrasive media up to 250F (121C), both distributors and end users have found that ARHT not only reduces clearances but actually increases mean time between failure when starting at these reduced clearances. Jonathan Pledger, general manager of Greene, Tweed's Fluid Handling business, noted, 'Our ARHT material offers pump users unprecedented performance. From its ability to run dry intermittently to its ability to withstand extreme temperatures, ARHT solves most application challenges. It is the optimum material to increase the longevity of pumps.'

From engineers with application know how to technical expertise at the point of sale, Greene, Tweed personnel understand pump technology and recommend the best material for the application. Both simple and complex parts made from ARHT are designed and manufactured on site, meeting customer needs for quick turnaround and short lead times. Billet sizes range from diameters of 1 inch to 33 inches with lengths up to 8 inches (depending on diameter and wall thickness).
