Honeywell's enhanced Symmetre software simplifies building operations and helps lowers costs

Honeywell Specialty Materials : 17 May, 2006  (Company News)
Honeywell today announced the release of SymmetrE R310.1 building management system software, designed to boost productivity and provide robust building management that runs seamlessly with the latest Microsoft operating systems. SymmetrE R310.1 is a scalable, open, building management PC workstation that monitors and controls heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment in commercial buildings.
'We heard our contractor customers loud and clear: it was critical to be able to offer building managers a more robust SymmetrE software solution that dramatically improved usability and lowered installed costs,' said Keith Beckstrom, senior product manager, Honeywell Building Control Systems 'In addition to all its expanded capabilities, SymmetrE R310.1 also offers lower starter pricing, so contractors can be even more competitive on small jobs.'

SymmetrE R310.1 enables multiple LNS database support, which provides the ability to segregate projects into logical databases, including lighting, HVAC, 3rd parties and equipment. This powerful feature reduces operation risk and improves engineering efficiency when servicing the building site, since multiple entities can work the site at the same time.

'We are ecstatic about the multiple LNS databases allowed, what a life saver when it comes to synchronization,' said Jeff Coffey of Gold Mech, Inc. based in Augusta, Georgia. 'And upgrading from release 300.2 to 310 was a simple transition, SymmetrE seems to operate faster and more efficiently.'

SymmetrE R310.1 also provides peace of mind to contractors, since it is qualified on the latest versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems software. Other SymmetrE R310.1 features include:

Internet Capable HMIWeb Browser – Provides 'thin client' access to the building site anywhere in the world using an internet browser. This saves a significant amount of money since a full software suite on the remote PC is no longer required.
Wildcard Search of Points – Allows grouping of points based on customizable search criteria, , for faster display of point data.
Quick Lists –SymmetrE R310.1 now offers the ability to group and store commonly used points into a single view providing faster recall of point information.
Support for up to 20 Building Network Adapters – Increases the current limit of ten BNAs to 20, allows installation of larger systems using fewer point servers
BACnet Direct Schedules – SymmetrE’s industry standard scheduling for Ethernet level BACnet controllers improves operation efficiency and meets BACnet criteria.
Dial up access to remote sites using Excel 5000 direct. Supports Windows-compatible modems, and now allows remote dial up to all Excel 5000 sites.
Graphics Shape Library – The HVAC Solution Pack delivers professional graphics in less time.
