Husky Injection Molding Systems has added Mexico to the growing list of regions served by its worldwide network of Technical Centres. The newest facility, located in Mexico City, opened in September and is situated in close proximity to a number of key customers.
The Mexico Tech Center offers 18,000 ft2 of production floorspace and a substantial overhead crane capacity of 10 tons. “Mexico is a key market for us. This new Center gives us the room we need to grow,” says Mike Urquhart, Husky’s Vice-President responsible for Latin and South America. “We’re now ready to accommodate increased demand when it happens.” Thirty Husky people work at the Technical Center, which offers a range of services including mould tests, audits, test production runs and training. A fully equipped PET mould refurbishing area will be another key component of this new Technical Center. Fully operational by March, refurbishing capabilities will include complete cold half conversions, rebuilds and component repair. Hot runner refurbishment along with rebuilds and preventative maintenance will also be available at that time.
