Improved wear protection with MECATEC cold solutions
|
Eutectic UK
: 28 August, 2004 (New Product) |
|
For almost 100 years, Eutectic has pioneered innovative, practical wear and repair solutions for increasing the performance, efficiency and reliability of industrial machinery and equipment using 'low heat input' joining and coating technologies. However, modern machine parts are increasingly designed using 'unweldable' alloy castings or non-metallic materials, in thinner sections or with complex geometrical forms. |
|
For this reason, Eutectic UK has integrated recent scientific advances in polymer / ceramic technologies into its new MECATEC range. We provide industry with the latest cold solutions to repair and protect against erosion, abrasion, corrosion, cavitation and impact.
'This is a significant range of products with truly measurable benefits in wear protection for the maintenance and repair sector,' commented Jon Burke, Marketing Manager of Eutectic UK. 'The majority of maintenance workshops in most industries have potential repair applications for MECATEC'.
The MECATEC range consists of 10 products each suitable for particular types of wear and application; including abrasion, erosion and corrosion wear types and emergencies, machining and general repair requirements.
Ideal for parts of intricate shape or with thin sections such as pumps, fans, conveyors in a number of industries, MECATEC solutions are synthetic, thermosetting polymers with a three dimensionally cross-linked network structure, reinforced with advanced, composite compounds. They produce strong adhesive bonding to a wide range of clean, base material substrates through physicochemical surface reactions.
Features of the MECATEC solution approach
• Cold repair polymer solutions ? easily applied, requiring no special equipment, power supply or gases and safe to use.
• Ideal for repairing machine parts either on-site or in the workshop.
• Complete range of paste and fluid solutions to protect parts from wear by abrasion, erosion, corrosion and impact.
• Repair and protect unweldable alloys (such as castings, concrete, ceramics, rubber etc.), thin sections and intricate part shapes of complex geometry.
• Rapidly restore worn components to required dimensions. |
