Jaw vices with quick change capability

Kurt introduces new HDL family of large 4in opening high density machinable jaw vices with new quick change jaws; they provide repeatable clamping to 0.001in |
|
Kurt’s new HDL manual and hydraulic vices have new quick change jaw feature and 4in hard jaw opening for both clamping stations. Designed to provide the most efficient workholding for fastest part-to-part machining time, these Kurt HDL vises are equipped with machinable jaws and are easily converted from manual to hydraulic operation.
The Kurt HDL quick change jaw feature saves setup time. With a half turn of a hex key, the stationary jaw lifts off the vice body. The jaw resets and self-aligns quickly without special tools. Spring pre-load design insures fast, easy loading of parts.
These double station vices have 21in length and 6in width. They deliver up to 6316lb of clamping force at 70lb of torque for the manual model and 7800lb of force at 5000psi for the hydraulic model. Both feature clamping repeatability to .001in.
These new HDL vices are available with quick-change machinable aluminium, cast iron or hard jaws. The HDL vice design, along with the machinable jaws on two faces, makes possible maximum density workholding.
Another important HDL Vice feature is the self-adjusting holding block of either front or back jaw for clamping the same or dissimilar sized parts. To further enhance fast operation, an adjustable preload feature reduces handle turns for opening and closing the vice.
Featuring durable 80,000psi ductile iron bodies with precision machined steel components, Kurt’s HDL design provides rugged strength, extra rigidity and long-term accuracy while absorbing machining vibration.
